A quiet kṣetra on the Krishna River — associated with the tapas and sacred presence of Śrīpāda Vallabha.
Kuruvapuram, also known as Kuravpur or Kurugaddi, lies on an island in the Krishna River, near the Karnataka–Telangana region.
It is traditionally regarded as the sacred place where Śrīpāda Vallabha spent an important period of His life in tapas and spiritual work.
The island remains relatively simple, with limited resources. The simplicity itself is part of what makes the pilgrimage different from an ordinary visit to a temple.
There are two ways by which pilgrims may approach Kuruvapuram today.
A newer road approach is now available towards the Kuruvapuram area and is approximately one hour by road, depending on the starting point and current road conditions.
The traditional approach is through Panchadev Pahad, followed by a small putti / circular boat crossing of the Krishna River to the island.
The Raichur District administration describes Kuruvapuram as an island in the Krishna River and notes the traditional putti / circular boat crossing. From the river bank, the temple is approximately another kilometre away.
The temple on the island is a place of quiet remembrance of Śrīpāda Vallabha.
Please confirm the day's darśan and seva arrangements locally before travelling, particularly if you are planning your journey around a specific worship or seva.

On the opposite side of the river are places associated with Śrīpāda's remembrance, including the sacred hand and foot impressions traditionally connected with His presence.
Kuruvapuram is a relatively simple and remote kṣetra, and facilities on the island are limited.
Pilgrims may therefore wish to plan accommodation before beginning the journey to the island, particularly when travelling with family or elderly devotees.
